STORIA DELLA MASSERIA La masseria l’Ovile antica  struttura rurale nasce come dimora dei pastori e ricovero degli animali nel XIX secolo. Sorge al limite di una “lama” (avvallamento del terreno prodotto dallo scorrimento delle acque) anticamente detta “Cazzacaldaia” o “Lamaluzzi”. È circondata da cisterne e grotte utili un tempo nelle attività zootecniche, tra le grotte va ricordata quella di “Salvanaca”  di epoca ipogea citata in un documento del 1343; tale grotta non ha subito alcuna ristrutturazione ed è ancora possibile ammirare al suo interno gli antichi abbeveratoio per gli ovini. Nella zona antistante l’ingresso della masseria, inoltre, è possibile ammirare  ancora oggi la “lera” cioè l’aia di forma circolare utilizzata in passato per la mietitura del grano mediante l’impiego di muli che circolando nell’aia, pestavano con gli zoccoli il grano buttato per aria e fatto cadere sul pavimento.       La Masseria attualmente conserva l’antica struttura a corte centrale, le volte a stella delle sue camere e la tranquillità di un tempo. Oggi gli stessi locali destinati un tempo  a dimore ed ovili sono funzionalmente riconvertiti a camere, nelle quali gli ospiti possono rivivere l’atmosfera mistica di un tempo.
